Designed for counter-narcotics agencies, law enforcement agencies, crime laboratories, prison facilities, customs or public safety efforts, CQL Narc-ID can have a direct impact on protecting communities from dangerous chemicals currently circulating through the illicit drug supply market. The use of 1064 nm Raman technology means users have the ability to scan through translucent packaging and detect impurities or impurities when needed, a common problem with older Raman technologies.
CQL Narc-ID joins Rigaku’s portfolio of existing handheld 1064 nm
Raman analyzer with CQL Max-ID and CQL Gen-ID. Narc-ID is different in that it was developed specifically for drug analysis. Users benefit from a small, focused, specialized library, specialized algorithms with an optimized result output, as well as the ability to easily generate PDF reports for proof requirements.
The on-board library has an extensive inventory of narcotics, precursor chemicals, cutting agents, pharmaceuticals, steroids and more. Users benefit from a library that is built and validated directly on the device instead of purchasing spectra and importing from third parties. Users have access to the latest cathinones, cannabinoids, fentanyls, opioids, tryptamines, amphetamines, nitaganes and more.
Unique features of the new CQL Narc-ID Raman analyzer include:
• Quick results that are easy to interpret
• Detect bulk (with Raman) and detect substance layers (with optional QuickDetect)
• Automatic recipe monitoring with 4C technology
• Ability to create and add user items with configurable library management
• Operate a streamlined GUI via buttons or touchscreen
• Add memos and pictorial evidence to PDF reports using the on-board camera for traceability
• Transfer results via WiFi, USB or peer-to-peer
• Compatible with Rigaku’s CommandSuite fleet management software
• Certified environmental ruggedization with MIL-810G / IP-68 certification
• Over 5 hours of battery life (also hot swappable)
• 2 years warranty coverage
Chris Langford, VP Marketing and Product Management said, “We are excited to provide a cutting-edge solution to replace legacy technology focused on anti-drug applications. “All communities are negatively impacted by the dangerous illicit drug supply chain, and we have responded to the need for new predictive testing capabilities with the release of CQL Narc-ID.”
CQL Narc-ID will be on display at the upcoming International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference scheduled to take place October 14-17, 2023 in San Diego, CA.
