Making reels can be silly and fun. As a result, not every reel you create is a well-crafted video that you want to share with your entire following, especially if you have an account that meshes your professional and personal life. Instagram has finally released the solution.
This week, Mark Zuckerberg shared on his broadcast channel that users will now be able to share reels to their list of “close friends” instead of all their followers.

All you have to do to access this feature is upload a video like you normally would, but before sharing you’ll select a new “Audience” button. Once you click on it, you’ll be given the option to share with “everyone” or “close friends,” as seen by the photo at the top of the article.
If you haven’t added people to your “Close Friends” list before, you can tap “Add People” under the “Close Friends” option and select the followers you want to add.
Instagram has also added new features it’s testing to make Reel editing a more seamless experience. These features make the Reel interface similar to that found on TikTok, with options to scale, crop, rotate clips, and undo and redo edits.
The platform is also adding 10 English text-to-speech voices on top of TikTok’s text-to-speech feature that has been in the app since 2020. Outline to separate text stands.
Adding audio to your relay is also easy. Instagram is testing new ways to access the audio browser, including quickly jumping to the audio page from the top of the camera roll.

It wouldn’t be a complete reel upgrade without making some changes to the drafts of Instagram reels. To make it easier to view and edit all your drafts, Instagram is introducing a streamlined drafts view Soon, you’ll be able to preview drafts, rename them, and schedule them
Finally, Instagram is testing new ways to create custom stickers using your own photos and videos from your camera roll or eligible photos and videos available on Instagram. The custom sticker feature is supported by learning from the Matter Segment Anything AI model.
On the analytics side, Instagram is introducing advanced insights with a new metric called replays under the Places metric in addition to primary plays.
In the coming months, Instagram will also introduce the ability to see how many people are watching a reel at any given moment.
