Over the past few months, I’ve been diving into AI courses that are free for anyone. Thanks to the absolute explosion of generative AI, there are plenty of courses out there.
Recently, I have highlighted courses on IBM, Amazon, and OpenAI and DeepLearning Here are those articles:
In this article, I’m expanding beyond vendor-provided courses. As you can imagine, vendor-provided courses have their own marketing spin. Don’t get me wrong. They are excellent courses. But this time, we are moving to courses created and hosted by third parties Udemy.
I have two Udemy articles. It will focus more on generative AI graphics, although some courses are a mix of text and graphics. The next one will be about text-based generative AI.
What is Udemy?
Udemy is an online learning platform that hosts courses created by individual instructors. Instructors don’t have to jump through too many hoops to get on the platform, but they are subject to student ratings. Of course, effective instructors will attract more students and higher ratings.

Udemy sells courses individually, a la carte. It sells one $20/month plan, where you can take as many courses as you want during your paid months Think of it as an educational Netflix plan.
So what is the free trick?
As mentioned in the title of this article, you can take this AI class for free. “Strategy” is what Udemy offers A 30-day free trial period, after which you will be charged. But most courses are fairly short.
I had a total of six hours on a bunch of modules to check out. The biggest content I’ve seen is 15 hours. If you really want to learn something about AI, and you want to do it for free, anyone serious should be able to churn through a bunch of these classes in a month.
If you decide to stay with Udemy membership after your trial period ends, it’s not bad to pay $20/month for the courses that Udemy offers, including beyond AI.
